latest news NESCPC Training Programme 2009

We are now planning to have the training calendar for 2009 available from the middle of December. This is to allow the completion of a comprehensive Training Needs Analysis. This will ensure that all future training is based on the needs of workers. If people wish to be contacted directly when the calendar becomes available, please contact the NESCPC office and ask to be included on the mailing list.

"A Scotland in which every child matters, where every child regardless of his or her family background, has the best possible start in life".

From the Scottish Executive

All children deserve to be cared for and protected from harm and to grow up in a safe environment in which their rights and needs are respected. Every adult in Scotland has a role in ensuring our children live safely and can reach their full potential.

The Scottish Government requires that all areas in Scotland have a Child Protection Committee, bringing together key agencies "to work together collectively to identify and commission inter-agency activity with respect to protecting children and young people."

This website provides information on what to do if you are concerned about a child or young person, advice on what would make someone need to be concerned and information on the processes that follow on from sharing child protection concerns.

You can also search the site for information and links to local and national services, professionals can find out about training and guidance documentation, as well as other related child protection information.
