The Scottish Executive
Improving the protection of children
and young people is a priority for the Scottish Executive.
The NESCPC is committed
to working in partnership with the Scottish Executive
to provide children in the North East of Scotland with
the
best protection services they can. The Scottish Executive
has a section on their website specifically for child
protection matters. This gives up-to-date information
on the work
that the Executive is currently doing in child protection.
This includes:
- the
child protection audit
and review
- a three year child protection
reform programme
- the publication of a Children's
Charter which is a statement
of what a child has the right to expect
- multi-disciplinary
inspection for agencies who provide child protection services
- the development of national
standards that will apply to all agencies
- examining
the role and remit of Child
Protection Committees
- Protection
of Children (Scotland) Act 2003
- guidance on vulnerable
children and young people
- guidance on internet
safety for children
